“Every day we should hear at least one little song, read one good poem, see one exquisite picture, and, if possible, speak a few sensible words.”—Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

What a difference a single day can make.
The day you received the news you were pregnant.
The day you got engaged.
The day you passed the bar exam.
Moments like these live in a single 24-hour window—never to be replicated in quite the same way again. One day can change the entire trajectory of a life. You can be celebrating your biggest promotion today, only to have it softened tomorrow by unexpected news. Life holds both extremes—its highest highs and lowest lows—and it teaches us, again and again, to seize every moment.
Every second.
Every hour.
Every day.
Live it as though it were your last—because this exact version of today will never return. You will not feel tomorrow the way you feel today. This moment is unrepeatable.
Hello, my beautiful souls!
Here in Toronto, the snow has arrived just in time for Christmas, wrapping the city in magic and cheer. The hustle and bustle is in full swing—crowded streets, busy stores, endless to-do lists—all in the name of the holidays. Are you part of the cheer, or part of the humbug? What will tomorrow hold?
If patience is packed and perspective is right, even the chaos can feel joyful. And if not—there are options. Order in. Shop online. Choose ease. Life gives us choices, even in the smallest of moments. But what is it about 24 little hours that holds such power?
One day you’re soaking in sunshine; the next, a dark cloud rolls in and sends you running for cover. Emotions rise and fall dramatically within a single day—it’s a wonder we keep it all together. And yet, we do. Because this is life. Sometimes we experience it in pieces. Sometimes we experience it all at once.
That is the beauty of participating in this thing called life.
In one day, you can go from being a lone wolf to sharing your world with someone you never imagined you’d meet. One moment, one glance, one warm embrace—and suddenly, love enters the room. Your meals are shared. Your thoughts are spoken aloud. Your days are no longer just yours. One day. One moment. Everything changes.
One day is all it takes for a miracle.
It’s the difference between lying in a hospital bed filled with uncertainty and receiving the news that everything has shifted—the right reading, the right donor, the right report. It’s the moment you go from wondering if you’ll still be here to planning a family trip anywhere at all, simply because you’ve been given another chance at life.
All because of one day.
One decision to keep going.
One more sunrise.
What a beautiful difference one little day makes.

Sometimes, that day is about giving. A generous bonus leads to a generous heart, and suddenly someone else receives a warm meal or a helping hand. Imagine if generosity became a daily practice—if we all chose to think generous thoughts and act on them. What a world we could create together. All it takes is one day to begin.
I am a proud mother of two intelligent, beautiful young women. Today, I cannot imagine a life without them—but there was once a day when it was just me. A young woman finding her footing, navigating career and marriage. And then, the next day, everything changed.
For every parent who understands this—there is nothing quite like leaving home for the hospital knowing you will never return as the same person. You come back with a newborn, a little soul who makes you more than you were before. That version of you from yesterday no longer exists. You are now “mom” or “dad.” You are now a family. What a miracle it is to bring life into the world.
Life offers moments that lift us—and moments that challenge us. Every day is new. It may surprise you, or it may knock you off your horse. The secret is to get back up. Never let your curiosity die. Stay in awe of what unfolds in front of you.
Because life is not about outcomes or acquisitions—it’s about moments. It’s about the days spent loving.
You get one day.
You get one life.
Live it fully. Love deeply. Laugh often. Explore bravely. Experience it all.
Tomorrow will be different. It may bring joy. It may bring loss. Someone you love may not be here forever. Cherish today. Love with intention. Do not postpone affection or connection. Today is the day you get to love and be loved.
Let go of the small things—you have bigger dreams to pursue. One day, you may think of a brilliant idea that changes everything. Remember that moment. Success is never just about the result; it’s about the becoming. The sacrifices. The struggles. The patience. The many days it took to climb the mountain.
What a beautiful difference a day makes when recognition finally arrives.

And sometimes, that day is the end of the storm. The sun returns. Warmth touches your skin. Blossoms appear. Birds sing. Life stirs again. Darkness gives way to light—and that is worth celebrating.
A day is not to be wasted. It is an invitation to be your best, live your best, and share your best.
You are worthy of a brilliant, abundant life—even if only for today.
Let the magical wonders of Christmas fill your hearts with excitement and joy, always remembering to share it with your loved ones and everyone around you!
Joy, love, dignity, connection, and freedom—these are your birthright. Invite them in now. Let love guide every interaction. Lift others. Cherish each connection. Offer love generously—to yourself, to your family, to your friends, and to your loyal pets.
Until our next visit together, stay kind and true to yourself.
To the beautiful, powerful you.
